Reunification Worker – Temporary Replacement Centacare Catholic Family Services

JOB DESCRIPTION

Assist children to exit the care system by working within a team that is renown in the sector for its unique model of therapeutic practice.

The Role

The Unify Reunification Program aims to strengthen family relationships and maximise parents’ capacity to meet their children’s needs and safely resume their care after a period of placement in care. The Reunification Worker works as part of a team and provides therapeutic, educational, and practical support to families, often on an outreach basis in the family home. The Reunification Worker is responsible for working in partnership with families, the Department for Child Protection, and other professionals by providing case work services to address risk factors and promote child safety and wellbeing. Family Reunification is a voluntary service where families consent to referral.

This is a fixed term contracted opportunity from the 6th of November 2023 to the 30th of June 2024 (a subsequent fixed-term period may be offered until the 28th of February 2025 – subject to funding).

What you need to bring

Essential 

  • Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (previously known as ‘Child-Related Employment Screening Clearance’)
  • Social Work degree or equivalent
  • Current Driver’s Licence

Desirable

  • Experience in working with vulnerable families with complex needs
  • Experience working with attachment-based interventions.
