About this Program

StandBy Support after Suicide was created to deliver support for people bereaved or impacted by suicide. Your role is to reach out through community engagement, education and training, as well as other events and activities.

About the opportunity

We are currently seeking an outreach worker to join our Standby Program. The role of the StandBy Outreach Worker of the ACT/Murrumbigee regions is responsible for assisting the Coordinator in delivering support for people bereaved or impacted by suicide, community engagement, education and training, as well as other events and activities as directed by the StandBy Coordinator.

You will join our time with an understanding of and experience in suicide postvention service provision and associated issues, bereavement and/or related disciplines such as trauma, grief and loss with demonstrated evidence of sector engagement, community development and partnerships.

To be successful in this role

  • Relevant qualifications or substantial experience in a relevant allied health or community services discipline including psychology, counselling, mental health, social work, or community development
  • Current valid Driver’s License and the ability to undertake travel for the role
  • Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Right to Work within Australia
  • Satisfactory National Police Records Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
  • Evidence of COVID vaccination with booster or valid medical exemption
