What you’ll be doing

This is an exciting, once in a career opportunity to join the new statewide workforce pool known as ‘CRU’, the Central Resource Unit.

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to deliver psychological and psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, interventions and consultation in order to address the needs of consumers who are living with complex mental health problems and disorders. The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organisational needs.

Where you’ll be working

The CRU Clinical Psychologist workforce will be deployed to locations for anywhere between two and thirteen weeks to support short-term staffing needs. You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of health settings when on deployment.

Selection Criteria

  1. Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited postgraduate Clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years fulltime duration or recognised equivalent.  Holds general or provisional registration with AHPRA and endorsement or working towards endorsement as a clinical psychologist.
  2. Demonstrated competence in a wide range of psychological assessments and evidence based psychological treatments delivered on an individual and/or group basis.
  3. Demonstrated experience working independently in the provision of patient/consumer-focused care.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of the quality improvement process for service development, implementation and evaluation.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
  6. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
  7. Current drivers’ licence with capacity and willingness to travel to NSW Health business and service locations throughout NSW which will include overnight stays in regional/remote areas. These deployments will make up the majority of your time in the position.
