A Snapshot of your role: 

As a psychologist for IMH Deakin Private Hospital, your role will involve providing exceptional quality psychological services to patients, optimising psychosocial outcomes and facilitating recovery from mental illness as part of a supportive and diverse multi-disciplinary team.

Our ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • A bachelor’s degree (major Psychology) from a recognised tertiary institution. 
  • Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to provide high quality care for individuals with mental health problems from initial interview to case formulation, diagnosis, and therapeutic management.
  • Experience in the provision of group and individual therapy including demonstrated ability to develop, implement, facilitate and evaluate group therapy programs. 
  • Excellent communication and clinical skills with an aptitude to remain calm, empathetic and professional in highly stressful or emotional situations. 
  • Possess extensive knowledge or the ability to gain knowledge rapidly relevant to individual patients, family or carers needs, including familiarity with a variety of therapeutic interventions. 
  • Proficient with basic computer programs and processes such and Microsoft suites.
