Program Facilitator Children’s Services North Launceston City Mission

JOB DESCRIPTION

Launceston City Mission’s Children’s Services is looking for a new team member to join our support service for children. While the role will be based in the Launceston area, it will require travel to facilitate programs in schools outside the Launceston local government area. 

City Mission is looking for someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and dedicated, with qualifications and experience in counselling, education, or similar. SELECTION CRITERIA 

Essential Qualifications/Experience:

  • Diploma or higher in counselling, education, or similar tertiary qualification.
  • Experience in supporting the emotional and wellbeing needs of children.
  • Experience in group facilitation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent computer literacy skills.
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Card.
  • Current valid Driver’s Licence.
  • National Police Check is required for all roles at LCM.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience or demonstrated capacity to work in an organisation adopting a Christian ethos.
  • Success in delivering support to children with complex needs.
  • Experience of working with children within the education system.
  • Ability to maintain positive professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised.
  • Positive history of following organisational policy and procedures.

City Mission’s Children’s Services offer schools, childcare centres, community organisations, families and children a range of educative and therapy-based programs relating to change, grief, loss, anxiety, wellbeing, and emotional literacy. 

The Program Facilitator Children’s Services is responsible to the Manager Children’s Services and facilitates these programs in a range of settings and supports the delivery of other aspects of Children’s Services. This position also has responsibilities relating to administration, learning and development, and community engagement.

This is a part-time position and salary will be based on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010. As a Public Benevolent Institution, LCM employees are eligible to Salary Package through our approved provider.
