Provisional Psychologists – 5+1 Internships The READ Clinic

JOB DESCRIPTION

As an intern at the READ Clinic we will fully support you throughout your internship. Your success matters to us, and through extensive supervision, mentoring and administrative support, we help guide you through your pathway to registration.

 

The READ Clinic is the largest private psychology practice on the Central Coast. With over 30 psychologists across two sites, we can offer you unrivalled access to the knowledge and experience of senior and experienced psychologists, in addition to the individual and group supervision you receive from our board-approved supervisors.

 

All our psychologists, including interns, receive the highest level of administrative support – our Client Care Team take care of all the administrative aspects including initial client enquiries, appointment booking, diary management, gap filling, invoicing and debt collection, leaving you free to focus on providing therapy and meeting Ahpra requirements.

 

We understand the demands of your internship year are significant, and we work with you to ensure that you get the best possible grounding in private practice psychology. We provide you with generous admin (non client-facing) time, and a gradual build-up of clients. We have a structured program of training in assessments and therapy to build up your skill base and ensure come out of your internship feeling really confident in your skills and knowledge, and set up for success in your career. We check in regularly to ensure you are on track to meet your Ahpra requirements and provide mentoring and support for the NPE and case reports. You are encouraged to attend our regular Clinic-wide social events which are a great way to connect with psychologists and the Client Care Team in a more informal setting.

 

We also value work/life balance here at the READ Clinic. Our internship program is structured as a 4-day per week program, and we can work with you to fit around existing commitments.

Requirements for interns:

  • Excited about joining the leading private psychology practice on the Central Coast
  • Reside on the Central Coast (or relocating to the Central Coast prior to commencement)
  • Provisional registration with Ahpra
  • Full working rights in Australia
