Job Description

We are seeking a Board Eligible Genetic Counsellor a to join our Genetic Counselling team on a full-time permanent basis. For the right candidate, we would consider the option for the role to be based in a non-Sydney Genea location (for example our Melbourne clinic).

The role is responsible for providing Genetic Counselling services to patients and support for referring doctors across all Genea sites. 

The role involves the management of the following clinical services: 

  • Reproductive Carrier Screening
  • GeneSyte Non-Invasive Prenatal Screening 
  • Preimplantation Genetic Testing GeneSure programs 
  • Gamete donor programs

Key Accountabilities include: 

  • Genetic counselling support for referring doctors
  • Genetic counselling for the Genea NIPT, PGT and carrier screening services
  • Liaison with Geneticists and fertility specialists
  • Assisting in the development and deployment of new genetic testing services
  • Involvement in analysing, preparing and presenting data for internal and external meetings and conferences.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a  post graduate qualification in genetic counselling or have attained Part 1 certification/ Board Eligible to Undertake Certification in genetic counselling from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia.
