An exciting opportunity exists for an energetic and experienced Psychiatric Clinician to fill this newly created role as Clinician – Perinatal Mental Health Program at Northern Health.

This is a multidisciplinary role and is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists.

The role:

  • Provide specialist consultations, assessments and appropriate evidence-based perinatal interventions
  • Be an expert in engaging women to support, promote and maximise participation in their and their children/families and carers collaborative recovery and wellness planning
  • Support service performance and care standards within the Perinatal Mental Health Program
  • Be a key expert resource and clinical advisor to staff within the Area Mental Health Service
  • Be prepared to work effectively with key partners that maintain, grow relationships and actively encourage flow of ideas

About you:

  • Registration with the relevant professional board
  • Demonstrated experience in Perinatal Mental Health
  • A desire to work in concert with hospital and community-based maternity and Child and Maternal Health services
  • Demonstrated ability to work with clinically diverse and demographically complex clinical presentations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
