The Role

The Residential Care and Transition Services Team currently have an opportunity for a Case Worker SILP (Supported Independent Living Program) to join the Mercy Community. This will be a Permanent Full-time position based in Murgon and services the Kingaroy area.

 As a Case Worker SILP in Transition Services, you will be responsible for the effective coordination of every phase of casework for young people accessing the Supported Independent Living Program (SILP) with a view to support highly vulnerable young people to reach their individual goals and independence.

This position offers a competitive salary of $82,044 – $88,288 plus superannuation (dependent on qualifications and experience). You will also have the opportunity to increase your take-home pay by salary sacrificing and other benefits (more information below).

 To be eligible for this position you will require:

• 3- or 4-year tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline.
• Demonstrated practice experience in providing high-level services for young people in and out of home-care settings.
• Provide a clear, expressed understanding of the complex challenges facing families in contemporary society.
• Be available to provide rostered after hours on-call support.
• Evidence of current vaccination against Whooping Cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
• You must hold a current Queensland Provisional Green (P2) or Open Driver’s License
• You must hold a positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and be able to obtain a positive Police Check and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.
