We have partnered with a national not-for-profit organisation to present this extraordinary opportunity to spearhead trauma-informed and therapeutic support for vulnerable children and young people in residential care. This pivotal role goes beyond mere supervision, enabling you to conduct comprehensive assessments, devise tailored treatment plans, and lead insightful reflective practices. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing risks and understanding behaviours of concern, thereby making a real difference in the lives of those you serve.

This position will be based in Western Sydney, NSW.

Renumeration and Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranging from $93’000 – $98’000, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Additional salary packaging of $15,900 
  • Budget allocated for professional development and external supervision costs are covered.
  • Flexible work arrangements are available to support a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic knowledge, expertise, and support to clients in the programs.
  • Complete Positive Behaviour Support Plans and assessments – analysis of risk and behaviours of concern (training provided if not completed before)
  • Provide goal-oriented services that are timely, efficient, and effective based on client needs
  • Drive reflective practice and therapeutic team meetings
  • Assist the wider business in assessing the suitability of the services for perspective clients
  • Build strong positive relationships with all relevant stakeholders 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • A degree-level tertiary qualification in a related health field such as Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or counselling.
  • Registration with AHPRA, AASW, PACFA or ACA – essential
  • Five years of demonstrated experience in delivering clinical support services to children, adolescents, or adults with challenging behaviour
  • Strong understanding of positive behaviour support approaches, including the use of Restrictive Practices in a therapeutic environment.
  • Full NSW Drivers Licence 
  • Willingness to obtain a WWCC and NDIS check
  • Willingness to undergo a National Criminal History Check
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical screening
