headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging mental health issues. The multidisciplinary team at headspace Nowra work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people.
Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Nowra. We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally-tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT.
About the position
The Youth Access Worker provides a welcoming first point of contact for young people and their family seeking support from headspace Nowra.
The position will undertake assessments and triage appropriate referrals to headspace Nowra. In conjunction with the headspace Nowra team, the Youth Access Clinician will coordinate the transition to appropriate support and treatment streams within and external to headspace as well as provide short term counselling interventions.
This is a part-time opportunity (22.5 hours per week), fixed-term to 30 June 2025 with the possibility of extension. Hours and days are negotiable.

We are looking for someone with:
- Passion and experience working with young people
- Qualifications or working towards same, in a relevant field including youth work, community welfare, social work, psychology, peer work, occupational therapy, counselling or other related qualifications or demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated ability to undertake assessment and screening of young people and their carers to determine care needs and assist to access necessary services
- Experience in providing counselling services including delivery of group programs.
