JOB DESCRIPTION

The Role:

As part of the Academy Leadership Team, the School Wellbeing Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of services to Communicare Academy students including youth counselling, and therapeutic services to maximise student participation and educational outcomes. The role provides leadership to the student wellbeing team, ensuring people, process, systems, and budgets effectively managed.

The role is the first point of contact for addressing students’ wellbeing concerns and, through the use of a triage model, facilitates students into a range of wellbeing services on campus or to other referral agencies.

This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis working 76 hours per fortnight.

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline.
  • Eligible for membership with the relevant professional body
  • Previous experience in managing youth at-risk wellbeing programs, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Demonstrated experience or knowledge of working with vulnerable people living in complex circumstances and providing intensive individualised support.
  • Demonstrated team management experience
  • Understanding of school and education systems and operational procedures
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  •  An understanding of CaLD and Aboriginal culture and family dynamics
  • Broad knowledge of social work interventions, models and approaches
  • Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
  • Unrestricted drivers’ licence
  • Working With Children Check
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate
