What you’ll be doing

  • The Health Clinician supports the Senior Health Clinician in operationalizing the Health components within the Joint Child Protection Response Program (JCPRP) in partnership with NSW Police and Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).
  • The Health Clinician contributes to operationalizing the Health components within the Joint Child Protection Response Program  (JCPRP).
  • You will be committed to delivering exceptional health care and be skilled at building positive relationships and collaboration within the health system and the broader community.

About the role

  • The Joint Child Protection Response Program (previously known as JIRT) is a tri-agency program – delivered by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), the NSW Police Force and NSW Health.
  • Our workforce in this service is made up of a Senior Health Clinician and a Health Clinician. They work alongside large teams of Police Specialist Investigators and Caseworkers, failure to fill this position results in the District unable to meet it’s obligations to participate in joint planning, share information that informs the multi-agency response and investigation and provide crisis support to children and families who have experienced sexual abuse and serious physical abuse.
  • The Program provides a comprehensive and coordinated safety, criminal justice and health response to children and young people alleged to have suffered sexual abuse, serious physical abuse or extreme neglect. This position is part of the small health team that works in partnership with NSW Police and Department of Communities and Justice and is located in Gosford CBD. 
  • The health role includes the exchange information that contributes to the local planning and response, directly provide or facilitate the provision of clinical support and intervention to children, young people and their non offending family members as well as navigate care through the provision of appropriate medical or forensic care, referrals and establishment of support network were required.

  • Psychologist
  • Senior Psychologist

You will working from both Gosford and Wyong Hospitals.
