Tuart Place is the state-funded support service for adults who have experienced out-of-home care during childhood, including members of the Stolen Generations; former child migrants; and non-Indigenous Australian-born care leavers. We are committed to providing a trauma-informed service of excellence with a focus on participant (care leaver) leadership and engagement. Customised clinical services include counselling, therapeutic support groups, and assistance with Redress and civil claims. Participants can also access our drop-in centre and participate in a range of social activities.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled person to join our professional team, dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable adults. This position requires extensive experience in therapeutic and trauma-informed practice, working with people with complex needs. The role is offered on a permanent part-time basis, working three full days (Mon, Wed, Thu) with potential for a further day (Tues).

Part of the leadership team, this position is responsible for the design, management and evaluation of clinical services; stakeholder engagement; and strategic planning. The role maintains a reduced clinical caseload while fulfilling responsibilities including contractual and reporting obligations; coordination of the Counselling and Redress Support services; and clinical supervision of staff.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Mental Health Nursing, or relevant discipline/equivalent competency
  • Professional registration if required, or the ability to obtain
  • Leadership or senior clinical experience working with adults with complex needs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience preparing a range of professionally researched and formatted documents and reports
  • Highly proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook; client databases; with an aptitude to learning new software
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining administrative processes and documentation to ensure a high quality of service design, delivery, and evaluation
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and collaboration
  • A National Police Clearance and a Working with Children Check or ability to obtain both at commencement
