Youth and Family Facilitator – Targeted Earlier Intervention for Schools Blue Sky Community Services

JOB DESCRIPTION

Blue Sky Community Services are seeking to employ a professional and values-aligned person to join our supportive and friendly team to assist us in delivering the Blue Sky Youth and Family Service on the Mid North Coast of NSW. 

A part-time position (28 hrs per week) is available in our Groundworks Youth and Family Hub, located in Coffs Harbour. The position is funded until 30/06/2024 due to a one-off time limited increase to existing service delivery. The position has a focus on improving student socioemotional wellbeing and addressing factors impacting on student behaviour for children and young people at selected local schools.  The successful applicant will work closely with the Youth and Family Team to support the increase of service delivery due to the additional funding.

About the Role

The Youth & Family Facilitator – TEI for Schools plays a pivotal role in the Blue Sky Youth and Family Service, delivering a range of services and activities aligned to the Targeted Earlier Intervention (TEI) reform that enhances outcomes for children, young people and families, and:

  • collaborates with nominated schools (1 high school and 2 primary schools) to identify and provide support to children, young people and their families experiencing complex vulnerabilities, behaviours and disadvantage
  • collaborates and builds partnerships with the selected schools and between Sector Staff, other Targeted Earlier Intervention service providers and relevant services to improve outcomes for young people and young people at risk of disengagement with school, families and communities 
  • delivers a range of tailored, flexible, responsive, evidence informed activities and programs including parenting programs, case management, education and life skills, and other family capacity building activities to increase the skills, capacities and knowledge of young people and families
  • works primarily with young people (11-18 years of age) and or/their parents or carers, to build individual and family skills and capacities, strengthen communication and relationships and to enhance the safety and socioemotional wellbeing of children, young people and families.
