Centrecare is a not-for-profit organisation with just over 375 employees and is committed to delivering quality professional counselling, support, accommodation, mediation and training services; in over 11 locations across the Perth Metro, Goldfields and Bunbury region.

About the role

Our Kalgoorlie office has an opportunity for a full time Counsellor who will deliver quality mental health and wellbeing services for disadvantaged, vulnerable or hard to reach individuals who have, or at risk of mental health condition throughout the Goldfields region.

A few specifics

  • Conduct comprehensive client assessments to inform the development of a case plan or appropriate referrals according to the clients identified needs.
  • Assess supports and ensure that they are appropriate to meeting client’s needs.
  • Refer and assist clients to access appropriate mainstream specialist services and support groups.
  • Respond to clients in crisis.
  • Facilitate groups as required.

About you

  • Recognised qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development or other related disciplines.
  • Relevant experience in working with children and families with complex needs e.g domestic violence, homelessness, abuse, schooling issues. Whereby service design was inclusive of social, emotional, mental, and physical needs
  • C class drivers licence.
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience in intake, assessment and case management
  • Knowledge and experience in early intervention and prevention program services.
  • Must be able to work autonomously

  • Ability to work within a team and get along well with others
