Counsellor Phoenix House Association Incorporated

JOB DESCRIPTION

Phoenix House seeks an exceptional counsellor to join our dynamic and friendly team at our Bundaberg and Gin Gin offices. If you believe you fit the bill, we invite you to talk with our Clinical Team to explore how we can advance your career while becoming a part of our growing family.

About Us:

Phoenix House operates in three primary areas. Firstly, we support children and families, collaborating with young individuals and their parents, caregivers, and extended family to address the impact of trauma in their lives. This includes our men’s programs and psychological support for men. Within this scope, we also offer our Bumblebees service, designed to aid at-risk preschool-aged children. Our second focus revolves around aiding survivors of sexual assault and abuse, irrespective of their age or gender, whether their experiences are recent or historical. In both of these areas, we offer an extensive array of therapeutic counselling, group sessions, and educational programs. The third facet of our organisation focuses on delivering general mental health services, open to anyone in the community through various avenues. Additionally, we provide Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services and therapeutic support to NDIS participants.

Qualifications & Experience:

Ideally, we seek a Registered Counselor accredited by ACA, AHPRA, or AASW.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Your role will involve providing counselling services to individuals and groups affected by behavioural issues, physical health challenges, work-related stress, relationship difficulties, and those in their immediate social circles. This includes active participation in our men’s counselling and support program.

Benefits:

We offer weekly peer supervision and training, featuring interaction with a diverse group of allied health professionals in a safe and inclusive working environment, including support for the LGBTQIA+ community. We provide a competitive salary and options for Salary Sacrifice, an Entertainment card, Superannuation, QLeave, coverage of professional registration fees, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, and a supportive and enriching work environment.
