Position Location: Port Pirie

Position Status: Part Time FTE 0.80 – Contract to 30.06.2024

The Intensive Family Services aim to preserve and strengthen family relationships to ensure children and young people live in safe, secure and stable home environments. Our service uses a holistic, therapeutic approach and promotes positive attitudes and lifestyle choices and works intensively with families to address child protection issues by assisting parents to build their parenting capacity and improve the safety of the home environment.

You will:

  • Be able to work with families and children in their home and persevere when facing challenges.
  • Have sound knowledge of child development and age appropriate parenting strategies.
  • Have the ability to establish positive, empowering relationships with families.
  • Be organised, plan to meet deadlines.
  • Have strong relationship building and communication skills, written and verbal.

It is essential for you to have: 

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Certificate IV (or above) in a Human Services related field (e.g. Community Services, Youth Work or Child, Youth and Family).
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.

A tertiary qualification in a Human Services related field (e.g. Social Work) will be highly regarded.  You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between Uniting Country SA sites or interstate as required.
