MND Counsellor MND Victoria

JOB DESCRIPTION

The MND Counsellor will provide emotional adjustment support to people impacted by MND. 

The role will support clients in any region of Victoria and Tasmania through the delivery of phone, online or face to face counselling. 

We are seeking an experienced professional with a counselling/ Social Work-related discipline to provide person centred, responsive and timely emotional adjustment support and advice to people impacted by MND that promotes wellbeing and includes; 

  • Providing evidence-based emotional adjustment support 
  • Providing advice regarding the development of MND Victoria Support groups and assistance with group facilitation, as required.  
  • Providing advice and support to MND Victoria volunteers who deliver Bereavement Support Services.  
  • Promoting the understanding of grief and loss experiences for people impacted by MND with external service providers.  
  • Contribute to the development of information resources.

 

We require the successful applicant to have experience working with people living with a progressive degenerative neurological disease, however, are able to offer extensive training about Motor Neurone Disease itself.

Full time or .8FTE will be considered for the role. Excellent salary ($108,000 – $113,000), and salary packaging available.
