Directions Health Services is an innovative non-profit organisation that has been providing specialist alcohol and other drug (AOD) services in the ACT and NSW for more than 40 years. Today we offer a comprehensive suite of holistic AOD, mental health and primary health services that aim to reduce harms experienced by individuals, families and communities and improve overall health and wellbeing. 

We have received funding to expand our regional NSW programs and are looking for passionate workers to join our multidisciplinary teams and deliver exciting and innovative new services. Directions Health Services’ multidisciplinary teams currently include a Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Social Workers, Counsellors, Case Managers, Aboriginal Health & Wellbeing Workers, Peer Support Workers, GPs, Registered Nurses, Pharmacists and Chemical Analysts. 

Our NSW regional services are spread across beautiful locations and very friendly communities in the Murrumbidgee region (Wiradjuri Country), and along the Eurobodalla and Sapphire Coast (Yuin-Monaro Country). 

 

About the positions

Aboriginal Health Worker

Working with other team members, you will provide culturally secure treatment and support services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and their communities, who are impacted by drug and alcohol use, mental health, and other co-occurring issues.

AOD Youth Worker

In this position you will engage young people to participate in Directions’ and other relevant programs that support their wellbeing and reduce drug related harms. You will work collaboratively with Directions’ teams, clients, and stakeholders to develop resources, supports, and programs which benefit young people.

Psychosocial Peer Support Worker

As a Psychosocial Peer Support Worker, you will provide psychosocial support to clients with psychosocial disabilities who are experiencing co-occurring mental illness, substance use and other comorbidities. This position draws on lived experience to offer peer support, capacity-building, planning, coordination, and liaison services that support clients to achieve their recovery goals.

Mental Health Nurse/ Mental Health Clinician

In this role you will work with other team members to improve the outcomes of people impacted by co-occurring alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) use and mental health concerns. You will provide high quality, evidence-based assessment, treatment, information, and support to vulnerable people, their families, carers, or support networks.

Alcohol and Other Drugs & Co-occurring Needs Clinician

As an Alcohol and Other Drugs & Co-occurring Needs Clinician you will provide integrated and coordinated community-based treatment including assessment, brief interventions, counselling and case management to clients and family members impacted by alcohol and other drug issues and co-occurring mental health and other issues.

These positions are fixed term and offer flexible part-time or full-time arrangements for the right applicant/s.
