Our client, a well-established, highly regarded Not-for-Profit organisation based in Toowoomba, is seeking a Social Worker – (Mental Health) to work 19 hours a week, contracted until mid-2025.
Reporting to the Legal Services Manager, the Social Worker – (Mental Health) will be responsible for upholding and supporting individuals’ rights to live a safe and inclusive life. Excercising a degree of autonomy, the Social Worker will provide short to medium-term casework, offering referral options to support clients in engaging with the organisation’s legal services.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial psychosocial assessments.
- Provide support, advocacy, and counselling.
- As required, develop intervention plans and safety plans.
- Facilitate client referrals to other organisations and services for further specialised support.
- Engage collaboratively in case discussions.
- Create a Community Engagement Plan to contribute to community education and engagement regarding services provided by the organisation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor of Social Work.
- Hold or be immediately eligible to obtain a Queensland Disability Worker Card
- Two years post-graduate experience (highly desirable)
- AASW membership eligibility.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal).
- Cultural diversity understanding.
- Empathetic and dedicated to client welfare.
