JOB DESCRIPTION

Spry Support Services is an NDIS provider that specializes in the delivery of high-quality disability support services to people in Australia. We support children and adults with sensory, intellectual, neurological, physical, and psychiatric disabilities. 

We are looking for a client-focused individual, who has a keen interest in the disability sector and looking to work in a supportive and collaborative environment.

 

Key Skills Knowledge and attributes:

 

  • A tertiary qualification in Allied Health, Counselling, psychology, or related discipline
  • 2+ years’ experience in Positive Behaviour Support and demonstrated experience with positive behaviour support practices and conducting functional behaviour assessments.
  • Experience in writing Positive Behaviour Support Plans
  • Registered NDIS Behaviour Practitioner
  • Demonstrated experience and well-developed skills in working effectively with children, young people, or adults with a range of disability, mental health, and/or complex behavioural needs.
  • You have a strong understanding of the healthcare industry. Prior experience with NDIS is highly desirable.
  • Current DHS Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Check
  • CPR and First Aid

 

Key Responsibilities of the role:

 

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate positive behaviour management plans including strategies and recommendations to support people with complex needs and behaviours of concern.
  • Provide high-quality specialist care to clients to optimize and improve their health outcomes and psychological well-being.
  • Undertake comprehensive functional behaviour assessments.
  • Understand restricted practices and the role of the Quality and Safeguards Commission.
  • Assist individuals and their families in identifying their needs through assessment and person-centered planning to develop meaningful goals and practical strategies to support people in their homes and communities.
  • Develop Behaviour Support plans to utilize a positive behaviour support framework with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices.
