About us 

The Neighbourhood Hub is the leading locally based neighbourhood centre and has been delivering services to the Mackay region for over 30 years. 

Our purpose is to respond to the needs of our community through compassion and connection. 

The Integrated Family Support Program aims to provide a flexible and responsive approach to the needs of the community. It provides support to children and families through a wide range of activities that focus on the provision of early childhood development using prevention and early intervention strategies. 

The purpose of the Program is to provide comprehensive, locally responsive and connected services that support child and parent/carer wellbeing, enhance positive child learning and development, and build parenting capacity. 

Program activities focus on planning and implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children in accordance with the Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines and Early Years Framework with specific examples including delivering weekly playgroups, hosting interactive and engaging information sessions and workshops for families across a range of childhood and parenting topics and providing one on one family support where required. 

This role is part time, up to 24 hours per week/fixed term contract position to 30 June 2024 with possible extension.  

The successful person will ideally have qualifications in Early Childhood Education or working towards these qualifications.
