Due to internal movements, we are now seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychosocial Clinician to join our team where you will coordinate and deliver a range of counselling and psychosocial support services to young people with a cancer experience and their parents. This is a high-impact role for a is suitable for someone with a tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or related Allied Health Field with a natural ability to connect and support.

About our role
- Provide ongoing individual support to young people through evidence-based counselling interventions using a mix of Telehealth, face-to-face services and outreach, to support the psychosocial needs of young people, including processing themes such as grief, loss, and bereavement.
- Conduct care coordination and case management, including referrals to suitable resources within the local networks and liaising with family when appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with young people to establish individual support plans to achieve their own self-directed goals.
- On occasion facilitate the psychosocial components of Canteen’s group programs.
- Provide short-term interventions to parents with a cancer experience, focused on parenting through cancer.
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of best practice, relevant theories, and practice frameworks, as well as Canteen policies and procedures and relevant legislation including mandatory reporting obligations and child protection issues.
- On occasion participate in monitoring an online counselling service within Canteen to provide ad hoc support for young people.
- Liaise with relevant networks to build referral pathways and advocate for the needs of young people.

About You
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or related field.
- Experience in delivering counselling or therapeutic interventions.
- Experience administering assessments, co-ordinating care and managing risk.
- Innate ability to engage with young people and carers/parents.
- Demonstrated skills in decision making, problem solving, negotiation and crisis management.
- Ability to liaise with internal and external agencies, and across shared-care models.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of young people (12-25 years) and their families.
- A compassionate values-based approach.
- Hold or be eligible to obtain accreditation, membership or licensing from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA), Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or equivalent national registering body.
- Drivers license and First Aid Certificate are essential.

Employment Expectations
