Position Location: Negotiable – Port Pirie or Port Augusta or Kadina

Position Status: Full Time

The Financial Wellbeing Program strengthens the financial wellbeing of individuals, families and communities by walking alongside them to access services, education, and connection to community, empowering them to flourish.

As the Financial Counsellor you will provide support to individuals and families who are experiencing financial difficulties by providing advocacy and options to address financial concerns. You will empower clients to make informed decisions and help build resilience to improve financial and personal wellbeing.

You will:

  • Understand key issues faced by people experiencing financial vulnerability and disadvantage.
  • Complete a financial assessment of a client’s position and the options available to improve their financial position.
  • Be passionate about delivering quality services to clients.
  • Have strong relationship-building and communication skills, written and verbal.

It is essential for you to have:

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence. 
  • Diploma in Financial Counselling, or at least 50% completion of the Diploma. 
  • Relevant experience, in a paid or voluntary capacity. 

You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between Uniting Country SA sites or interstate as required.
