Mental Wellbeing & Raphael Services is an innovative community-based service providing specialist individual and group therapy for women and families affected by perinatal mental illness.

Our organisation supports and specialised mental health services to parents and families where the parent is experiencing a mental health disorder, where there are parent-infant relationship issues or where a child up to four years of age is experiencing emotional difficulties. The service is based in the community and provided at no cost to clients.

Your Role

Supports and maintains a framework for activity within Social Outreach services, which will include strategic development, service planning and delivery of community mental health services including:

  • General Counselling – young and adults
  • Group programs
  • Psychiatric support
  • Perinatal and infant mental health

The Position

  • Provides support to the Director Community Mental Health Services with respect to the formulation and implementation of service activity.
  • Develops strategies and make recommendations on service planning and implementation of accessible early intervention and treatment services to the populations within the region.
  • Develops collaborative relationships and partnerships with key stakeholder groups.
  • Supports and maintains a framework for the identification, selection, prioritisation, implementation and evaluation of service activities.
  • Provides operational input into the development of the Social Outreach Strategic Plan.
  • Presents programs/information sessions including caregiver orientation and other identified/requested forums.
  • Implements and monitors the service budget and associated reporting requirements, taking action to address identified gaps/issues.
  • Provides daily operational leadership, guidance and line management for service caregivers.

Having previous experience in a similar leadership role, you will have the ability to lead strategic service planning and to manage the establishment and implementation of new services and have demonstrated significant depth of understanding and experience of working with communities to develop social capital.

To succeed you will possess a tertiary qualification relevant to the role, such as Mental Health Nursing, Social Work or Psychology and/or professional registration in a social, behavioural or health sciences field is essential to the role and have demonstrated understanding and experience in establishing and/or maintaining safe practice in community-based setting.

  • Salary: $154,700 to $171,900, plus 11% superannuation
  • This position is on a permanent full time basis, working 76 hours a fortnight.
