About the Opportunity
Youth Health Services (YHS) works with vulnerable young people (12 -24yrs) by providing therapeutic interventions. As the Social Worker you will have direct client contact working in partnership with other government and non-government organisations to ensure positive outcomes for the young person. You will be based in Fairfield but may provide outreach across the South Western Sydney Local Health District within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

 

What You’ll be Doing
To provide Social Work services to consumers and their carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes consistent with SWSLHD policies and procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. The position will also participate in professional development, clinical supervision, quality activities and other relevant departmental and administrative duties.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  1. A Social Work degree which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  2. Demonstrated experience in a health related field and ability to provide a range of Social Work interventions
  3. Demonstrated experience prioritising work and managing stressful situations
  4. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  5. Demonstrated high level communication skills (written and verbal) and computer skills.
  6. Evidence of commitment to clinical supervision and professional learning.
  7. Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to quality processes, and the application of evidenced based practice within social work.
  8. Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills in psychosocial aspects of heath, illness, injury and recovery.
  9. Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
