JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently recruiting for our 2024 Allied Health Graduate Program and are looking for a Graduate Paediatric Speech Pathologist/Key Worker. As a Key Worker, you will be the main support person working with the family to develop their skills. Our Graduate Program provides the opportunity to consolidate your existing skills in your discipline specific area, as well as training in other discipline areas to support families to implement strategies in line with their goals.

During the first month of our two year Graduate Program the focus will be on establishing yourself in the workplace and shadowing a senior Key Worker. After your first month you will be assigned your own case load but with plenty of support. The structure of the program includes ten training modules, fortnightly supervisions/mentoring and monthly graduate sessions and a broad team of allied health/early childhood specialists to assist with implementing key worker delivery from 0-7 years and discipline specific supports from 7 to 12. At the monthly graduate meetings you will come together with other first and second year graduates for case study review, exploring thoughts and ideas, learning, supporting and growing together.

As part of continued growth and transformation of our team, Windermere is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Paediatric Speech Pathologist/Key Worker to join a highly skilled and dedicated team of allied health professionals and early childhood education specialists to provide comprehensive support to children aged 0 to 12 with a range of complex disabilities.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering a broad range of evidence informed intervention strategies, standardised assessments and parent training to increase active participation in social and educational settings for children;
  • Provide key worker support through both telehealth and face to face consultations to build relationships in natural environments, schools and kindergartens as well as our modern office facilities and therapy spaces; and
  • Liaise and collaborate with the early intervention and therapy services team, comprising of Early Childhood Education Specialists, Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Psychologists to design and deliver comprehensive support to upskill families/carers beyond therapist sessions.

You will have the option to access generous salary packaging due to Windermere being a not-for-profit organisationThe Year 1 base salary is $76,820, however if salary packaging is maximised you will receive an additional $5,343 per annum in your after-tax pay (this is the equivalent of a $84,970 Gross Salary for year 1). In Year 2 the base salary increases to $79,750, again with salary packaging you can receive an additional $5,343 per annum in your after tax pay (this is equivalent to a $87,953 Gross Salary for year 2).  

This is a full time position in which Windermere has developed a hybrid model of service delivery that can include working from home via telehealth, in natural settings, home environment and meeting with consumers within our offices in Narre Warren, Berwick, Cranbourne and Pakenham. You also have the option to access generous salary packaging. If maximised to its full potential you can claim up to $15,900 as tax-free salary, and a further $2,650 as tax-free income can be claimed on meals and entertainment.

About You:

  • You will be tertiary qualified in Speech Pathology with current and ongoing registration with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Using knowledge and experience to assess children from 0 to 12 with a variety of clinical and developmental needs and work collaboratively with other team members.
  • Building trusting working relationships with both children and families in addition to the Early Intervention and Therapy Service team.
  • Being open to continuous quality improvement where you can thrive in an environment that provides the opportunity to work autonomously and as part of a high performing team.
  • Holding a Current Victorian Drivers’ Licence, as this role involves sessions held in the consumers’ natural setting, including school, kinder and home environments.
