Your Next Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Registered Mental Health Professional to join our team at the Katherine Support Office. This is a full-time, fixed-term position that will involve regular remote travel to communities. As a Mental Health Professional, you will be an integral part of our Social, Emotional and Wellbeing Team. You will provide expert support to clients requiring mental health care, promoting social and emotional well-being and early detection of mental illness.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Providing information and education on mental health and social and emotional well-being
  • Conduct mental health screening using recognised tools and referring at-risk patients for early management
  • Following up with at-risk patients and those referred back from specialised services
  • Providing mental health prevention and care services to clients of all ages in the region
  • Coordinating and making decisions for clients requiring mental health care
  • Leading an integrated approach to mental health service delivery and promoting mental health awareness
  • Implementing evidence-based standards and policies
  • Capturing and sharing clinical information with relevant healthcare providers
  • Collaborating with other healthcare services

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

To be considered for this role, you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Psychology, or Occupational Therapy. Candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of work experience along with a post-graduate qualification in Mental Health.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Current unrestricted manual Driver’s License
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Non-adverse National Criminal History Check
  • Current OCHRE clearance (working with children check)
  • Acceptable vaccination status to work with vulnerable people in the NT

Moreover, you will bring an understanding of cultural competency and cultural safety when working with Indigenous people and multicultural societies.
