JOB DESCRIPTION

The role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Gippsland, your responsibilities will include providing intensive, early intervention mental health counselling and therapeutic case management support for children from 4-11 years of age.

As part of the Connect Me service, you will deliver outreach counselling support and therapeutic case management, which is practical, facilitative, and supportive. This will include client contact, intake and assessment and referring children’s family members to relevant support services. You will work flexibly, delivering services in individual and group settings as outreach off-site locations, including schools and early education centres across Wellington. You will also contribute to community engagement, education and service promotion activities.

This opportunity will commence from January 2024. This role is located at our Bairnsdale centre and is part-time, working nine (9) days per fortnight on a fixed term contract until June 2024 with a possibility of extension based on funding.


About you

  • Degree in Social Work, Counselling or relevant area.
  • Significant demonstrated experience working with children and families, from a child-centres and strength-based perspective, in a setting relevant to the role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload to meet timeframes and job-related expectations.
  • Good all-round computer skills and literacy, having used the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word etc.

The base salary range is $92k-$99k (pro-rata) per annum.
