JOB DESCRIPTION

In association with the Emergency Recovery Victoria and the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), Windermere’s Recovery Support Service aims to assist members of the community who have been impacted by the recent storms in Victoria.

About the role

Windermere’s Recovery Support Program provides dedicated support to help affected families access the services and information they need to recover and start rebuilding their lives. As a Recovery Support Worker, you will aid our consumers in navigating various local and additional support services. Working remotely and from our Head Office in Narre Warren, you will be responsible for intake assessment, care plan development, referrals and advocacy for consumers across Victoria

We have 2 full-time positions available as fixed term positions until June 2024, with an extension of contract possible. Windermere also promotes a hybrid model of working from home and within our offices in Narre Warren, Pakenham, Traralgon, Bairnsdale, or Box Hill.

This position is suited for Support Workers with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a trauma related program or similar field.

To be successful for this role, you will posses:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or relevant equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in case management, intake and assessment experience preferably in a trauma related program

  • Willingness to promote and support practices that are inclusive, culturally responsive, safe and accessible.
  • Current Victorian Drivers’ Licence.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant pre-employment screening and checks.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Welfare or relevant equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within the community sector, preferably in a trauma related field
  • Case management, intake and assessment experience
  • Willing and capable to work flexible hours, including weekends and after hours as required and negotiated
  • Is approachable, reliable and trustworthy; maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality where required.
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
