JOB DESCRIPTION

QuIHN is a statewide, not for profit, and non-government health service which provides a variety of health services to people who use substances throughout Queensland across three service areas:  

  • Therapeutic Services;
  • Harm Reduction Services; and
  • Better Access Medical Clinic.

About the role

Part time position – 30 hours per week – $47.50 per hour

In this role you will provide counselling and psychosocial group work to individuals on community supervision orders within Corrections’ offices, who are also affected by substance use and other related concerns such as mental health, as well as management and leadership of the counselling team.

  • ensure counselling services are provided to the highest professional standard and the smooth running of the team
  • lead and manage a multidisciplinary therapeutic team to achieve annual goals
  • providing counselling that utilises evidence-based therapeutic modalities for the achievement of client identified goals
  • providing harm reduction and other health promotion services
  • utilising alcohol and drug and mental health assessments
  • ensuring client data is entered to a high standard
  • facilitating and/or co-facilitating psychosocial education and support groups

What we’re looking for

Someone who is passionate about their work and the health outcomes of both clients and the broader community and can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, including leadership experience
  • Tertiary qualification (e.g. Cert IV or above) in a relevant field
  • Ability to engage clients on community supervision orders (Parole and Probation)
  • Ability to demonstrate allyship to the AOD community
  • Ability to achieve a successful Criminal History Check + Admin Form 27A (Application to Visit) – as required by Queensland Corrective Services
  • Current Queensland driver’s licence (or equivalent)
