The role you could play
We are seeking a dedicated AOD Wellbeing Support Worker (Mental Health and Wellbeing Local)! You will provide supervision, support and crisis intervention to participants at Bendigo Bridge Program to support practical program administration relative to participants. Additionally, you will ensure a holistic coordinated care approach between Salvation Army AOD services and non-AOD services such as medical and psychological.

Duties

  • Facilitate bio-psycho-social education groups that are aligned with the national model of care
  • Utilise AOD interventions such as Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and Relapse Prevention to assist
  • Assist in planning activities to meet individual needs advised by Dual diagnosis practitioners, including transportation to and from the centre if required
  • Maintain strong internal and external partnerships with a range of stakeholders including other sectors and health services in consultation with the program manager
  • Work collaboratively with other MH local members team members to provide integrated service initiatives

This is a permanent full-time position, based in Bendigo and Echuca, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 4 Award.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Addiction Counselling or related discipline (desired)
  • Hold the AOD skill set as the minimum requirement to work in AOD sector or willing to obtain
  • Experience in clinical works, within AOD and/or Mental Health Services (highly desired)
  • Demonstrated ability to guide, support and lead staff
  • A current driver’s Licence
  • This position may be required to work at outposts within the GHCIN catchment area (cities of Melbourne, Yarra, Mooney Valley and Moreland)
  • After Hours work may be required of this position
