About the Role

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Foster a safe environment for students to voice their opinions, interests, and concerns regarding student life.
  • Assist student representatives plan and implement social, recreational, spiritual, and service activities.
  • Coordinate and promote participation in Excelsia Eagles sporting teams.
  • Facilitate the establishment of student clubs and societies that cater to all student groups on campus. 
  • Communicate with students on actions, support available, resources, and facilities of the college. 
  • Capture and report on trends, implementing strategies to promote student community engagement.
  • Develop and implement the Student Wellbeing Plan, linked to positive physical, psychosocial, and spiritual wellbeing outcomes.
  • Advise, support and provide mentorship to the Student Representative Council in its primary functions of student advocacy and student leadership.
  • Identify and mentor student leaders
  • Triage student life concerns and refer them to the right area. 

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Professional Standing:

  • Possession of a relevant degree level qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience/ training

Essential:

  • Committed Christian involved in a local congregation. 
  • Experience (3+ years) working in a student support role or equivalent. 
  • Experience in a higher education setting (or equivalent) would be an advantage. 
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement events and programs linked to good outcomes and high engagement. 
  • An understanding of current and emerging trends in higher education student wellbeing.
  • Technological literacy in a wide range of desktop applications to support reporting and analysis role requirements. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and confidence in presentations.   
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. 

This full-time position is based in Macquarie Park.
