Hub Practitioner Orange Door Mildura MASP

JOB DESCRIPTION

MASP is a Community Service Organisation located in Mildura, Victoria.

This is a full-time temporary position up to 12 months. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, safe and effective responses to women, children and families seeking support and safety through the Mallee Orange Door.

This is a rewarding opportunity to join an exciting state-wide reform that aims to improve the safety of victims, survivors and children, and put an end to family violence.

The Hub Practitioner is part of the Mallee Orange Door, a voluntary service funded by Family Safety Victoria as part of the broader, state-wide Orange Door network. The Orange Door is a Risk Assessment Entity (RAE) and is aligned with the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Management (MARAM) framework.

The Orange Door works with people who use violence, giving them an opportunity to change their behaviour and holding them accountable. The Orange Door also works with families and individuals who are experiencing family violence or child wellbeing issues to increase safety and link them with appropriate services to meet their needs. 

A degree in social work (or equivalent qualification) or relevant experience is essential.

Expected commencing salary of $84,506.74 per annum plus statutory superannuation. Because MASP is a non-profit organisation, you also have the option to maximise your income through salary packaging.

Essential role-specific skills, knowledge, and experience

  1. Possession of the mandatory qualification required for the position.
  2. Experience conducting risk assessments and managing, complex family assessments, planning and implementation of intervention strategies in situations where family violence or child protection intervention is prevalent.
  3. Working knowledge of the Children, Youth & Families Act 2005.
  4. Awareness and knowledge of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014, Health Records Act 2001, Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005, and the Family violence Protection Act 2008.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant theory as it relates to child and adolescent development, attachment and separation, loss and grief and family dysfunction.
  6. Experience providing parents and/or caregivers with advice and support concerning child or adolescent behavioural issues.
  7. Demonstrated ability to engage and relate to a range of different people from various backgrounds and cultures.

Highly desirable role-specific skills, knowledge, and experience

  1. Demonstrated ongoing commitment to reflective self-practice.
  2. Experience working in a not for profit/charitable organisation.
