Queensland Rugby League (QRL) is searching for a Club Education and Wellbeing Manager to support the Northern Queensland Community Rugby League team. This person will report directly to the Senior Club Education and Wellbeing Manager and be responsible for supporting the Northern leagues, clubs and players through the development and delivery of wellbeing program support services across the region.
We are interested to hear from those who are driven to make a difference to the wellbeing of individuals and communities, have experience partnering with support services and charity bodies and can support the delivery of wellbeing programs.
If you have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar wellbeing role or youth work and have qualifications in this sector (working towards completion or similar) have a Mental Health First Aid Certificate and hold a valid paid Blue Card, we encourage you to apply.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Supports, adapts and develops club education programs and creates broader education resources which include but not limited to; social responsibility, PEP, support squad, D&I, volunteer recruitment and retention.
- Working with the Club Education team from other regions, NRL and stakeholders to support and create the delivery method for these programs.
- Continually supporting and building relationships with charity bodies to support delivery that has social and community impact.
- Developing mental health awareness and wellbeing programs throughout the region (e.g. Mental Health First Aid, Support Squad, White Cloud and Mind Challenge)
- Leading one on one meetings with grass roots club staff and participants on a support and referral basis.
- Planning and facilitating opportunities to educate QRL Community Rugby League staff on current frameworks and programs.
- Coordinate and conduct volunteer education sessions.
- Supports the delivery of mandatory wellbeing requirements at a state wide competition level.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar wellbeing role or youth work.
- Have a tertiary qualification in the community work, youth work or counselling/wellbeing.
- A Mental Health First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- Hold a current paid Blue Card / Exemption Card
- Previous experience in developing and implementing successful wellbeing programs.
- Experience in collaborating with others to solve complex challenges across a diverse range of geographically remote teams.
- Proven ability to contribute strategically as a trusted voice at Leadership level on wellbeing initiatives.
A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a full-time permanent position with the successful candidate being able to be based in any one of our three office locations – Cairns, Townsville, or Mackay.
The salary for this position is $83,512 plus superannuation with a commencement date in January 2024. In addition, the successful candidate will also receive five weeks of annual leave each year, an allocation of funds to use for professional development and other amazing benefits.
