KICS Kinship & Foster Care focuses on securing stable and enduring kinship & foster care placements children and young people with complex support needs, in the context of their whole family.
KICS is a partnership service delivered by Kummara Limited & Infinity Community Solutions Ltd.
KICS is a child and young person centred, whole-of-family focused out-of-home care service resting on the foundation practice framework of the Family Partnership Model. The service provides out-of-home care support while maintaining a whole-of-family lens focused on wellbeing, attachment and bonding through case management and the application of family-led decision making principles.
About the role
This role is responsible for quality service delivery to children and/or young people and families engaged within KICS Kinship and Foster Care Program. This includes therapeutic interventions, coaching and mentoring and practical supports to assist individuals and families to reach their full potential, the development and review of plans to meet agreed family goals and completion of reports that contributes to accountability to the funding body and the family. The position is required to work directly with children, young people and families with complex behavioural issues in placement settings.

Skills and experience
- Have or enrolled in or working towards a relevant human services qualification – Certificate IV, Diploma or Tertiary level qualification.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in working with children and young people and families.
- Demonstrated intermediate ability to use computer IT systems including MS Word and Excel.
- Provisional Green or above Driver Licence in jurisdiction of employment.
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) linked to the organisation. Ability to hold and maintain all legislatively required personal history screening as required by the organisation at all times and in accordance with any future requirements if legislation changes.
- Current Senior First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Vaccination against whooping cough may be required if working with relevant client group.
