Overview

The Women’s & Children’s Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia.  We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service. 

Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to: infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services for perinatal women.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists within CAMHS – Enfield to join the team as a Social Worker (AHP2) working at a full-time capacity, on a short-term basis.

In the role of the CAMHS Clinician, you will utilise your clinical expertise to provide guidance, support, orientation, and education to colleagues, and actively engage in action research projects, quality improvement initiatives, and policy development within their practice settings.

This role involves addressing discrepancies between practice and policy, ensuring optimal consumer care, and offering crucial components of care such as assessment, education, counselling, and group work, all aimed at achieving the best possible consumer health and recovery outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Extensive clinical experience in the treatment and management of complex child and adolescent mental health issues in a youth justice setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the theory and practice of clinical work within social work, including group work
  • Ability to work with a high degree of responsibility with limited supervision and direction
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
