The Organisation
Our Client is a reputable Not for Profit organisation that has been operating on the Gold Coast for over 30 years. Their mission is to support and accommodate women and children escaping from family violence with a focus on their safety and empowerment.
The Role
We are recruiting for a Domestic Violence Specialist – Mobile Outreach. This role is Full Time, working flexible hours from Monday-Friday. The successful candidate must be willing to work two later finishes per week – one 6pm finish and one 7pm finish. The role is a max-term contract until 31st December 2025.
The role will be located in the Central Gold Coast area. Work will be based from the Domestic Violence refuge, with outreach supports provided where required. A work vehicle will be available for use while on shift.
The successful candidate will be providing outreach-based case management and support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence, that may be situated both on-site and off-site. The role sits within a small team of case workers, support workers, housing officers and mobile outreach.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing support and assistance to women and children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Provide service delivery in a range of settings, such as homes, hotels, in community, or public spaces.
- Arranging referrals and pathways for women and children to access external support services
- Providing general support as required across the varying needs of the client
- Working as a cohesive team member, practicing excellent communication, transparency, and integrity.
To Be Successful
- Female candidates will only be considered (It is a genuine requirement that this position is filled by a woman as permitted in sections 25, 104 and 105 of the Anti-Discrimination Act, 1991)
- Previous experience in Domestic and Family Violence advantageous, however experience in Housing and Homelessness, Intensive Family Support or a Child and Family Case Management role is considered
- Ability to demonstrate strong empathy skills, as well as uphold respect and sensitivity for privacy and confidentiality
- A positive, energetic and proactive attitude willing to hit the ground running
Other requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred – Diploma with extensive experience will be considered
- Current Blue Card
- National Police Check completed in the past 12 months, or willing to obtain
- Drivers License Class ‘C’ (Open)
Salary and Benefits
- SCHADS Level 5 – $97,377.80 + 11.5% Super + Salary Sacrifice
- Work car provided for travel during shifts
- Central Gold Coast location
