Your part in our UnitingCare team
We are seeking a Case Worker to join our Cherbourg team on a full-time permanent basis. This program supports women and their children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to Domestic and Family Violence to obtain or sustain long term housing. This position provides a practical and holistic response to the needs of each individual in the family when resident in refuge. With a focus on Case Management the position addresses issues relating to, but not limited to, experiencing and/or witnessing domestic violence and homelessness. The position provides both practical and emotional support in order to enable women and children to make informed decisions about their future and gain long term sustainable housing.
What makes a difference for us?
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services field
- Experience in working with women and children experiencing domestic and family violence.
- Knowledge of practices in relation to child protection, child development, domestic and family violence and working with women and children in a culturally appropriate manner.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Current Qld Driver Licence
- Willing and able to participate in shared on-call responsibilities including weekend and evening work.
