DAIWS operates 24/7 women’s shelters for crisis accommodation and transitional units for longer term accommodation, Outreach and counselling services for clients to support them in living strong empowered lives.
The role of Program Case Worker, reporting to the Outreach Coordinator is to develop and deliver trauma informed programs and workshops to mitigate the impact of past trauma and build strong women, as well as providing a strong case management service.
You will have the ability to articulate the impact domestic and family violence issues have on Aboriginal and Torres Strait families and the community; along with effective ways to support, maintain and protect vulnerable women and children. You will deliver services in a culturally safe manner, using client-centered and trauma informed practice.
You will be available and willing to work Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 4.30pm. You will have contemporary experience in providing effective case management to women and children in domestic, family, community and sexual violence or other crisis situations, including mandatory reporting in the Northern Territory. Certificate III or Certificate IV in Community Services or similar, a NT driver’s licence, Ochre card, and have or be willing to gain a First Aid certificate.
