The Opportunity 

Yerin Eleanor Duncan is looking for a suitably qualified Aboriginal Family Worker to join our new Maliga Safer Families program. The Aboriginal Family Worker aims to improve child and family wellbeing, parenting and educational outcomes, whilst encouraging role modelling of positive behaviours, healthy lifestyle education choices and safety in the home.  

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications in Community Services or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in case management

Selection Criteria Questions

  1. Please provide your knowledge and understanding of the Darkinjung community on the Central Coast and demonstrate how this relates to the role you are applying for. 
  2. Provide an overview of your experience developing individual case plans for clients and reporting on this information/data, including client assessment skills and experience. 
  3. Describe your professional understanding of the importance of belonging, positive identity and cultural connectedness for Aboriginal children and families.
  4. Outline your experience liaising with external stakeholders to provide wrap around services for children and families. 
  5. Describe your understanding of trauma informed care and what strategies you would implement when working with Aboriginal children and families. 
  6. Outline your verbal and written communication skills, organisational skills, and computer literacy.
