Our More Jobs More Care project is heavily committed to supporting Aboriginal community members in engaging in employment and training. The Aboriginal Mentor will work closely with Aboriginal Communities, Employment Services Providers, and other key stakeholders. Core Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of the Aboriginal Mentor role will be to:
- develop a regional network of referral pipelines ensuring we meet all pre-employment and employment targets
- establish a strong referral network directly across Aboriginal Communities
- establish a contact schedule with our referral pipelines
- work with each candidate to ensure they understand the full requirements and offerings of the More Job More Care Project
- mitigate any issues that make impact on pre-employment or successful engagement into employment
- supporting Aboriginal Community Members that undertake our training.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications
- Qualifications relating to Mentoring, Case Management and/or other relevant disciplines will be highly regarded
Skills, Ability and Knowledge
- Aboriginality – this is an identified position under Section 14(4) of the Anti Discrimination Act 1977
- Extensive community engagement experience in working with Aboriginal community and organisations
- Strong experience in managing stakeholder relationships
- Extensive experience in client centred case management
- Creative, strategic, and analytical thinker with the ability to manage multiple contractual requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills particularly in negotiation and rapport development
- Commitment to principles underpinning the values of excellence, best practice, and cultural engagement
- Working with Vulnerable People Check
- Valid Current Drivers licence [min P2]
