About the position

The Access Clinician (Level 2) is required to assist in the intake and allocation of new referrals, clinical review and quality assurance processes within supervision of the Access Team. Required to work across headspace Frankston and Rosebud satellite clinic, the role also includes clinical service delivery, including HEADSS and risk assessments, care and safety planning, psychoeducation and brief therapeutic interventions. Outreach and community engagement activities may also be required. In addition, opportunities are available to perform supervisory duties with students depending on qualifications. The Access Clinician (Level 2) contributes to clinical governance, escalation and support at the centre alongside the clinical lead.

 

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

  1. Provide clinical leadership within Access & Intake ensuring high quality service provision and program fidelity.
  2. Engage with key external collaborators; Ensure you work in a family inclusive manner, and provide developmentally appropriate and responsive service for vulnerable young people aged 12 to 25 years
  3. Contribute to or undertake report writing and/or, contribute to funding applications where appropriate; Work to ensure all client related documentation is up to date and of a high quality.
  4. Ensure appropriate triaging and monitoring of young people coming through the intake process; Where appropriate conduct screening and assessment
  5. Support the Access and reception teams around walk in presentations of young people and/or their families; Reviewing care plans and pathway support for young people addressing needs and risks, in a shared decision making approach with the young person and their family (as appropriate). This may include brief interventions and psychoeducation.
  6. Complete service activity and outcome measures as per service protocol; Monitor caseload and present as required to clinical audit or review and handover meetings weekly; Advocate on behalf of young people with other services, schools and/or employers to enhance service access; Provide secondary consultations to referrers, collocated services and in reach service providers
