Job Description

  • Work from home position with options to work from one of our Melbourne offices if preferred  
  • Full-time or part-time flexible position available until the 30th of June 2024
  • $41 – $45 per hour + Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550 

As the Access Worker your duties will include:

  • Collaboratively supporting the target cohort to gain access to supports by engaging with key stakeholders to establish robust referral pathways.
  • Educating key stakeholders about NDIS evidence/entry requirements, supports and services available, secondary consultations.
  • Supporting the person to liaise with health professionals to collect the evidence they need to make an NDIS access request or with consent undertake this activity on their behalf.
  • Liaising with NDIA to submit the Access Request Form and depending on the outcome, may follow up with submitting a review or an appeal.     
  • There will be a requirement to meet clients if needed (particularly at Independent Assessments for Planning Meetings).   

 

Qualifications

Our expanding Mental Health NDIS Access team is looking for two experienced Access Workers to work with our male clients across the Southeastern, Outer East and Northeastern regions!       

As the Access Worker, you will have excellent administration, interpersonal and communication skills to provide support in assisting vulnerable people with Mental Health illness. You will bring a sound understanding of mental illness, psychiatric disability, and the effects on people’s social relationships, independent living, daily needs, physical health, vocational and employment needs. Knowledge of NDIS is desirable.

Mandatory Qualification/s, Competencies and/or Licences:

  • Tertiary qualification plus relevant experience in Health, Community Services, Mental Health, Disability or related discipline.

Reporting to the Team Leader you will be part of a team that includes Mental Health NDIS Access Workers, Intake Workers and Allied Health NDIS Assessment Coordinators who assist people in providing evidence for a successful application. The team is dedicated to giving clients the best possible support.
