Our opportunity

The Adoption and Permanent Care Team supports children and young people into permanent placement families, ensuring the acknowledgement of the child’s birth identity, maintaining birth family relationships whilst developing a sense of safety, security, and belonging for the child within the placement family. This role focuses on developing positive relationships with the children, young people, parents, caregivers and colleagues. Whilst providing detailed assessment of children of all ages referred to adoption and permanent care team for placement. As well as assessing prospective adoption and permanent caregivers, including preparation of written assessment reports with recommendations as appropriate. About you

We are looking for a motivated community services practitioner to join our team at Cafs. To be successful for the role we are looking for candidates who hold the below skills and attributes: ?Tertiary Qualification in Social Work, Welfare Studies, Youth Work or related discipline (Mandatory) ?Is self-motivated and has demonstrated experience managing complex caseloads and mentoring team members ?Demonstrated skills, experience in providing counselling, and support (Pregnancy Options Counselling). ?ability to conduce complex carer assessments ?has highly developed communication skills, partnered with excellent attention to detail ?Can easily develop positive and meaningful relationships with clients, team members and internal and external stakeholders. ?Alignment to Cafs values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, Kindness & Innovation
