About the role
The position delivers competent level evidence-based Social Work/Occupational Therapy/Psychology clinical services in the assessment and treatment of consumers with complex mental health issues, their families, carers, and relevant stakeholders, in an acute setting. This position operates as a member of an integrated, multidisciplinary mental health team with a focus on planning and provision of clinical care and therapeutic interventions within a recovery and trauma informed framework.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated competent level of contemporary knowledge and skill in triage, assessment, and acute management of consumers with severe mental health disorders with an understanding of the complex impact of the disorder on the consumer and their family. This includes demonstrated knowledge and skill in diagnostic and case formulation and risk assessment in an acute and home-based setting
- Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act 2016
- Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively in a demanding complex multi-disciplinary environment and communicate effectively using well developed oral and written communication skills to enable effective interaction with consumers, carers, and other stakeholders
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles, processes and environments that support recovery and an ability to work within a Recovery and Trauma Informed Framework
- Demonstrated experience in the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities and the ability to provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced staff members and education to students commensurate with level of experience
