This Role
The AOD Harm Reduction Practitioner is responsible for providing safety and care to persons who are identified as being intoxicated or drug affected in public when that person’s behaviour poses a risk to themselves or the community. The role provides both rostered and on-call outreach services. Working with an AOD Registered Nurse, the program is designed to support clients by providing supervision, monitoring, and transport to a place of safety, therefore minimising possible harm associated with public intoxication
