  • $87,000 – $102,000 pro rata + Super + up to $18,550 Salary Packaging benefits

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation with EACH being one of the lead agencies. Each year, we help thousands of young people, and their family and friends, access vital support through our headspace services in over 145 communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools. 

 

Job Description

Looking for a fulfilling opportunity to support the mental health of young people? headspace Lilydale are seeking an Allied Health Practitioner in the mental health field, to join our dynamic team. As an integral part of our clinical services, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality and flexible mental health interventions to young individuals aged 12-25, as well as support for their families.

As an approved Allied Health Practitioner under the Better Access to Mental Health initiative, you will:

  • Manage a case load of clients under the Medicare Better Access Scheme
  • Conduct thorough assessments, formulate effective treatment plans, and actively monitor progress
  • Complete risk assessments, safety plans, and mental state examinations where necessary
  • Collaborate with the team to coordinate referrals and case coordination as required  

Additionally, your commitment to continuous professional development and participation in training and secondary consultation will contribute to the ongoing growth of our services.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Mental Health Social Work, or Occupational Therapy and full registration with AHPRA or AASW
  • Clinical skills in working with young people experiencing mental health issues and their families
  • Eligibility for registration with Medicare as an approved provider of mental health items under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Medicare Benefits Schedule

Your experience in providing therapeutic interventions to young people, knowledge of the Medicare Benefits Scheme, and familiarity with the broader service system will be invaluable in this role.
