Allied Health Practitioners:
Kuditj is currently seeking applications for the role of Allied Health Practitioners.
This is a part time role for 15 hours per week, 9.00am – 2.30pm Tuesday to Thursday and be predominantly work from home.
The position is a fixed term contract until June 2023 due to funding.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The role of this position is to provide allied health support services in the form of counselling, to parents who are seeking to address their vocational, non-vocational and systemic barriers that are preventing them from achieving their full education and employment related goals.
Duties:
Under the supervision of the Services Manager, an Allied Health Practitioner is required to:
- Provide counselling sessions, applying a wide range of therapeutic interventions to clients with complex needs.
- Complete five sessions of counselling per day, delivered face to face on site, or remotely, work from home via telephone or video/online.
- Complete case notes and administrative records for each session.
- Attend counselling team meetings, staff meetings, participate in supervision and performance reviews, and attend relevant professional development opportunities.
- Develop strong relationships and maintain contact with Kuditj Case Managers, for the purposes of promoting the allied health service to gain referrals.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace and to take reasonable care to ensure own health and safety and health and safety of others; and
- Other duties as directed by supervisor such as, participating in the development of new programs, providing onsite counselling
Selection Criteria:
Essential:
A degree or graduate diploma in either:
- allied health services or behavioural sciences
- social work
- rehabilitation counselling
Demonstrated experience in counselling, as well as knowledge of domestic violence and crisis intervention models.
Ability to work towards positive outcomes for clients.
Computer literate, with a sound knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
Current registration with at least one of the following professional associations:
- Australian Psychological Society (APS),
- the Australian Association for Social Workers (AASW),
- Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) or
- Australian Counselling Association (ACA).
Desirable:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in legislative requirements of mandatory reporting, issues pertaining to substance abuse and mental illness.
Demonstrated understanding of issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
Experience working in employment services highly regarded.
Special Requirements:
- Must have a valid WA Working with Children Check.
- Must provide a National Police Clearance.
- Current WA driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
